Inspiration to Celebration: La Vita Bella Modern Beach Wedding

We’re so excited to finally be able to share our La Vita Bella styled shoot with you all which was posted yesterday on Style Me Pretty. This was the first designed shoot that we did after branching off independently and really wanted to showcase a style that was ‘me’ post-Lollipop. No more DIY, no more crafty, no more Anthropologie inspired… I love modern, I love glam, I love rustic and I LOVE finding ways to bring them all together in unique ways. Paula Luna is a goddess of light and her work was such a compliment to my designs.

La Vita Bella- Design for A Modern Luxury Beach Wedding

Mid century Italian glamour was the inspiration for this romantic seaside shoot designed by Alchemy Fine Events & Invitations. With images of the Italian Riviera in my mind I wanted to create a setting that combined the clean and chic style of mid century modernism with the allure of Italian opulence.

We started the setting by layering a koa wood rug and cowhide onto the sand to create a platform for the white leather high back and Mies Van Der Rohe chairs. The soft grey of the sand was brought onto the table through the flannel linen for a neutral and rich palette to design upon. We laid a grey sun bleached plank of wood down the table and topped it with hollowed out rough wood logs, delicate cut crystal and silver cups to mix textures and colors in. Sunset colored blooms ranging from russet orange to ballerina pink were used including pops of indigo and green for contrast.

Silver, gold and copper ornate plates were stacked high and topped with precious covered arbutus fruits to offer guests a palette cleanser before they dined.  For a modern take on a place card we layered geometric cut copper onto wood with each guests name burned into them then wired them around napkins with copper wire.

The menus offering an Italian feast featured geometric cut outs to see through to the rustic wood planks they were nailed upon with copper nails.

Isari Flower Studio located in Solana Beach, North County San Diego right down the street from me is such a talented team of florists that explores texture with wildflowers, succulents and even proper garden roses. I adore working with them and their creative ideas!Purple Orange Wildflower Wedding Flowers

A vintage cocktail set stating ‘You, Me and Ours’ sat atop a mirrored end table for an adorable way to tempt guests to a pre-dinner nip.

A mirrored end table offered stacked cake plates and napkins next to the gold and silver decadent cake designed by Erica O’Brien.

Yellow Modern wedding cakeFor a play on geometric shapes and textures for the wine bar we created a wall of classic cement screen blocks with flower installations fading in color from eggplant to pumpkin to celery. Terracotta pipes were stacked and staggered to create a unique wine rack and house surprising air succulents.

After we shot the modern beach wedding we moved the table designs to the Exquisite Weddings magazine launch party where we also got this gorgeous photo taken by Aquario Studio.
